Hallo, Jammers! ^.^
First of all, we've just recently hit 100,000 views. Good grief!
This has been an important milestone for so long. I remember when I first made JAJG public and impatiently waited for the views to flood in, but I only got 20 or so a day. Things have certainly changed, haven't they? :3
'Parently it's national honeybee day. Yay, bees! uwu
Story time! A few weeks ago, I got to hold a male carpenter bee. He was really fluffy and didn't have a stinger, and he was OBSESSED with crawling up my sleeves. Whenever I tried to set him down, he just stuck to me like a burr. X3
Here's my honeybee:
Cutie. c: Now, here's your daily bee PSA in honor of bee day:
Bees are becoming endangered due to pesticides and bee extermination! Boo! DX As most of your probably know, bees are important pollinators that our ecosystems wouldn't survive without. In fact, Albert Einstein once said," If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live."
So, here's how you can help out our adorable fuzzy friends:
- Cut down on the use of pesticides and fertilizers on your lawn.
- Buy raw, local honey. You may be wondering how on earth this will help bees, who obviously don't have wallets. Well, beekeepers need money for the upkeep of their hives! Make sure that the bee keeper is treating the bees kindly, if possible, before supporting them.
- Plant bee-friendly flowers. It'll help with the pollination.
Here is a lovely flower chart:
The bees will thank you. (:
Ciao!
